Our butterfly has arrived

We have been watching to see when our butterfly would hatch but we missed it. We think it must have happened this afternoon. Evi came home from summer camp today and was really excited to see a real live butterfly in her house. I though it was probably hungry so we tried to let it go but it wasn't ready. Evi was able to hold it on her finger which she thought was the coolest.

Here is a shot right when we found it.

Swimming

The kids love the swimming pool this year and we go as often as we can. It's so much fun to watch them in the water. Evi is able to really swim this year and Robert is getting in up to his shoulders. The weather this summer has been on the cool side so we haven't gotten to the pool as much as they would like but any chance we get we're there.

She's a boppin...

This summer we signed Evi up for summer camp through the York Center Park District. She goes from 9-3 on MWF. They take field trips on Friday's and this week they are headed to Brookfield Zoo (one of Evi's favorites.) She really loves the crafts and water play. Last week they went to a water park and she had a blast.

The Cosley Zoo

It was such a beautiful day we decided to go to the Cosley Zoo in Wheaton. The best part is that it's free. It's rather small and only houses animals native to Illinois. The kids love it though and get just as excited about seeing the ducks as they do the alligator at Brookfield Zoo.

Waiting for a butterfly

Our neighbor gave Evi this chrysallis to watch and let go once it tuns into a butterfly. Evi loves butterflies and anything about watching things grow and change. Each day we check out the chrysallis to see how it's changing. We can't wait to meet the beautiful butterfly inside.

backyard bonfire and the church picnic

On Saturday night we decided to roast marshmellows with the kids. Evi is always asking if she can stay up late and do a fire with us. Robert doesn't like marshmellos very much and thought the fire was "too hot." Evi on the other hand ate many many marshmellows. Grandma Judy and papi even joined the fun. Then on Sunday we went to our church's annual picnic and had a blast.

To the Zoo

We took the boys to the Zoo and had a great time riding the tram. We had to get off though cause Robert wanted to go to the swamp to see the alligators.

and she's off...

Jeremy took off Evi's training wheel's this month. She doesn't quite have the hang of it yet but practice makes perfect.

July 4th

This year we celebrated with family and friends at our house for our 2nd annual 4th of July party. Everyone had a great time and although it rained the fireworks were great.

Happy 5th Adoption day Evi!

On June 30th we celebrated Evi's 5th adoption day. We can't believe that she has been home with us for 5 years now but at the same time we can't remember a time without her. Evi is such a joy to our family. Jeremy and I can't believe how big she is getting. She starts kindergarden in the fall. Right now she is in swimming and gymnastics and loves them both. She really loves her brothers and spending time with our family. She is such a beautiful, smart, energetic little girl we are just so blessed to have her in our lives.

Swim Lessons at the Jungle Pool

Evi and Robert are both finishing up their swim lessons this week. Evi was in Level 3 and learned how to go under water and touch the pool floor and Robert worked hard on his "monster arms." Both kids really love to swim and did a great job.
